Interview with Wild Hare Escapes – December 17, 2020

ESCAPE ROOM INTERVIEW:

Having played one of their online rooms, a Comedy of Terrors (get it?), we did a video interview with Wild Hare Escapes (J.R., Aaron, and Todd) to learn about their approach in creating fully digital online escape room experiences. Check it out below:

You can also check out their website for recurring promotions. They normally promote a discount with a puzzle that you have to solve, so check it out before you book.

Have you done any of the “rooms” with Wild Hare Escapes? What was your experience like? You can add your comments to this post.

Interview with Time Emporium (Loveland, CO) – December 5, 2020

ESCAPE ROOM INTERVIEW:

The gentlemen at the Time-Emporium in Loveland, Colorado genuinely love the escape room industry. Co-owners Jeff and Noah were on location in Florida installing there 3 rooms (Secrets of the Pharaohs, Murder in London, and Wizards Tower) in 2 new locations there and they took the time (again as this was take 2 since the audio never recorded the first time) to talk to Jason about all things escape rooms. Take 1 was originally done after escaping the Wizards Tower and before escaping Murder in London. Their immersion factor is off the charts! See what they had to say about their facility, and the industry in general, in the interview below.

Have you done any of the rooms at this location? What was your experience like? You can add your comments to this post.

Interview with 303 Escape (Denver, CO) – June 7, 2020

ESCAPE ROOM INTERVIEW:

With a dear friend in town, and the quarantines lifting, we embarked on a journey through the mind of a psychopath and ventured forth to 303 Escape up in Thornton, Colorado, a Denver suburb. Having read an article on Westword, and absolutely LOVING horror themes, I felt it was my duty as an Escape Room Guy to shoot Tim an email and see what this escape room was all about. There’s currently only one room available, but the 2nd room in this horror trilogy should be ready around Halloween (how fitting!) and I CANNOT WAIT to check it out!

Additionally, if you book 7 days in advance and use code 7DAY, you’ll save 7% off your booking.

Have YOU escaped the Homicide Hotel’s Room 303?? What was your experience like? You can add your comments to this post.

Interview with Odyssey Escape Game (Alpharetta, GA) – February 07, 2020

ESCAPE ROOM INTERVIEW:

While on a business trip to Georgia, Mike stopped by Odyssey Escape Game in Alpharetta, GA to check out their location. Owner Mike and manager Kyle offered a peek at the 4 rooms they have and agreed to an interview.

We talked about advice for those wishing to enter the escape room industry. We shared some funny stories, and learned about where they get their inspiration for their rooms. They were also kind enough to create a discount code for our readers, so use ERG15 to save 15% off when booking online at either of their locations!

Then, Mike was off to play the Jack the Ripper room… solo! Did he make it out?

Now, as a random coincidence, Jason was passing through Odyssey’s other location in Schaumburg, IL, and decided to play Jack the Ripper as well. So, we’ll be able to bring you the dual perspective from the same room, but at two different locations!

Have YOU done any of the rooms at this location? What was your experience like? You can add your comments to this post.

Interview with Bond’s Escape Room Arlington (Arlington, VA) – July 31, 2019

ESCAPE ROOM INTERVIEW:

We’ve been fans of Room Escape DC (Fairfax) for a while now, and we heard that they had opened up a second location in Arlington. Their themes looked pretty cool (very fantasy-based).

Their new location is called Bond’s Escape Room, which will eventually become the official name of the both (and all future) locations.

We were contacted by their digital marketing admin and they invited us in to try out one of their new rooms, so we also made sure we got to spend some time talking with Andrew, their General Manager and puzzle designer extraordinaire.

Check out the video below and find out what makes Bond’s Escape Room a bit different from some of the other locations in the DC area.

Interview with PanIQ Escape Room Chicago (Chicago, IL) – March 14, 2019

ESCAPE ROOM INTERVIEW:

While visiting Chicago, IL on a work trip (during St. Patrick’s Day weekend, of all times), Mike convinced a few of his co-workers to check out The Mob room at PanIQ Escape Room Chicago, an escape room franchise with a sister location in DC). After completing the room, he sat down with Game Master Drew, and delved more into the rooms and themes at this location.

Unfortunately, his manager Heidi couldn’t join us for the interview, but she offered our readers a 15% discount when using the code ERG15 while booking any of the rooms at their Chicago locations (new one opening soon!).

Interview with Trapped! (Las Vegas, NV) – March 9, 2019

ESCAPE ROOM INTERVIEW:

A recent work trip took Jason to Las Vegas of all places, so what good would he be if he didn’t do some rooms or interview someone new? (Or, you know, a little of both!) After completing One Eyed Jack on his own, Jason sat down with Richard, the owner of Trapped! Escape Room in Las Vegas.

We had a great chat, about both One Eyed Jack and his thoughts on the industry, then we sat down in front of the camera for the usual round of questions.

Richard and his team have also offered our readers (you know, you all) a 10% discount on escapes when using the code ERG10 when booking the rooms!

Interview with Escape Quest Alexandria (Alexandria, VA) – February 26, 2019

ESCAPE ROOM INTERVIEW:

It had been awhile since we were at Escape Quest’s location in Alexandria, VA, so Jason reached out to them to see if they’d be interested in doing an updated interview. Tierney, the Creative Director, invited us over to brief us on what has been going on at Escape Quest, and how they’ve adjusted their design process over the last few years.

She also provided our readers with a discount code to use when booking any rooms at their locations (they are expecting to open in Bethesda sometime in mid-2019).. Use ERG25 to take a whopping 25% off your ticket price!

Due to the revamping of some of the rooms, we may have to head back and check out what’s changed…

Interview with Sly Fox Escapes (Colorado Springs, CO) – February 18, 2019

ESCAPE ROOM INTERVIEW:

Closing out our long weekend in Colorado, we wanted to check out one final escape room location. We contacted Sly Fox Escapes and they invited us in to  play the room they recommend for enthusiasts, C’thulu Awakens, and to set up a video interview.

After playing the room, we got to sit down with Richard, the owner and our Game Master, to hear more about how Sly Fox designs their rooms, offers a choice of difficulty levels (on the fly), and what advice they have for other escape room owners.

Richard also provided our readers with a discount code to use when booking a room at his location. Use ERG15 to take 15% off your tickets through May 2019.

Interview with Time to Escape (Lakewood, CO) – February 17, 2019

ESCAPE ROOM INTERVIEW:

In preparation for enjoying a nice long, holiday weekend out in Colorado (mostly in Colorado Springs), we were recommended by the owner of another escape room company to check out Time to Escape on our way back from Denver. So, we reached out to Arianna, who invited us to check out her location in Lakewood, and we stopped in to see what Time to Escape was all about.

While we were there, we played throughThe Burning Castle, a theme that involved time travel and the infamous Vlad Tepes (a.k.a. Dracula), himself. Afterwards, we sat down with Arianna and found out how she came up with the inspiration for the rooms themselves.

Additionally, she’s offered our readers a $5 discount on tickets when using the code ERG5D ($5 off per ticket) when booking the rooms.

Check out the video interview below [and apologies for the audio; Jason forgot his recording equipment on this trip]:
